GOOD NEWS FOR COLON CANCER SUFFERERS AND FAMILIES!
Inspirational Stories Of Courage And Survival ... 7 Colon Cancer
Survivors Live To Tell Their Tales And Each One Reveals ...

"Why Some People Recover From Colon Cancer And Others Don't ... Which Person
Do You Want To Be?"

"It's been proven time and time again that you can survive colon cancer ...
and there are common qualities in all the people who survive. So, if you're
curious about what others have done to beat colon cancer ... don't let today
pass without finding out the common qualities and secrets of survivors."

What does an oncologist do when diagnosed
with colorectal cancer?

Susan - A patient or a doctor: As a 9 year old, my father died of
colon cancer which was a difficult blow. When I went to college I was
intent on being a teacher until a moment in time changed my mind and I
studied medicine. I was particularly interested in oncology because of
my father.

And I started a cancer support group with two qualifications - as an
oncologist and as a person touched by cancer death. Unfortunately ...
as time went on - I became ill. I left it later than I should to have
investigations. Sadly, I too was diagnosed with colorectal cancer ...
just like my father. This is a whole world of difference ... actually
having cancer myself.

Susan shares with you the highs and the lows of cancer diagnosis and
recovery ... a compelling read.

From Mark Barkley
Southport, Australia
Touched by colon cancer

Dear friend,
I'm guessing that if you're reading this letter ... either you or a
loved one is suffering from colon cancer. I understand how you are
feeling ... as I've been in the same position. From one moment to the
next ... my world turned upside down and I was looking for something
positive that would help me through this crisis. Can you relate to
this?

It's hard when cancer pays a visit to your family ... you don't know
whether you are going to survive ... or have to go through horrific
treatment protocols ... or whether you have to endure surgery and the
complications this can bring to your life - particularly when its colon
cancer.

Life suddenly turns into a world of uncertainty.

What do people do to survive colon cancer

I don't know about you ... but I wanted to know what people did to
survive colon cancer ... I didn't want to hear stories about the ones
who didn't make it. Unfortunately, some people are insensitive to your
situation ... and those are the stories that come out of the woodwork
when someone finds out you or a family member has got cancer. It's
possibly happened to you already.

Well ... when it happened in my family ... I could find lots of
information about colon cancer ... but most of it was medical jargon
and not written in a way that I could fully understand or feel inspired
to believe that cancer wasn't a death sentence.

7 people share their life-changing stories with you

I searched out survivors and learned what they did to beat colon
cancer. I was desperate for encouragement and positive news ... and
looking for something that would give me hope ... in a dark time in my
life.

And the great news is ... that in my search, I found 7 amazing,
inspirational people who have beaten colon cancer who are willing to
share their story with you. They've gone on to truly live life to the
fullest - as their scare made them realise what's really important in
life.

This was the proof that I needed to believe it was possible to survive
... and to understand that death didn't have to be the end result (well
... not yet anyway).

And ... I went on a fact finding mission, too

You've probably found the same things that I found when doing my
research ... there's loads of clinical sites that talk about
"adenocarcinoma" and "cancer polyps". But I couldn't find a lot of
information on how it affects you personally and how you and your
family cope with the news and the treatment process.

What I found was a whole new language that can be quite frustrating and
confusing. The first things I wanted to know the answers to were
questions like these ... but in layman's language that I could
understand:
1. How do you know if you have colon cancer? What are the signs and
symptoms?
I wanted to know if my close family member could have spotted any
clues sooner and does it run in the family. How would the rest of
my family and I be better prepared?
2. What tests will the doctor carry out to see if someone has colon
cancer?
Will they be able to tell you on the spot if there is a problem?
How intrusive are the tests? Or will you have to wait for days,
fretting about what's going on?
3. How curable is colon cancer?
If they do tell you it's colon cancer, what exactly does that mean?
Is it a "death sentence"? Will they tell you "You have 12 months to
live. Get your life in order and prepare for the worst."?
4. What are the stages of the disease?
The reading I'd done said that there were different stages of colon
cancer. What are the symptoms of each stage? What are the survival
rates of each stage? If you had a later stage colon cancer, what
can you do?
5. How quickly does the disease progress or spread?
How soon should you see a doctor? Is a delay critical?
6. How is colon cancer normally treated?
Would I have to go through chemotherapy and radiation treatment? If
so, for how long? What are the odds of curing the disease using
these treatments? How extensive is any surgery likely to be?
7. What are the common side effects of the treatments?
Would I lose my hair? What else could I expect?
8. What alternative treatments are available?
I'd heard of people going on special diets. High fiber diets were
mentioned, but what foods? I'd seen lots of remedies on the
internet. Which of these are proven and documented?

9. How do I get in touch with others who are going through the same
thing? What support groups are available for colon cancer sufferers
or friends and family?
How do you get to talk to others, especially about their feelings
in the early stages. Who is there to lend a comforting shoulder?
How does someone get counseling?

I was able to find all the answers to these questions and more ... and
have written them in layman's language in this book.

Just one fact or story in this book could change your life forever.

These stories certainly changed my life ... and they may change yours,
too. I hope you find that the honesty, openness and wisdom of these
generous people ... brings you courage and determination to fight a
good fight, too.
Susan's Story: You heard from Susan earlier ... and she speaks
candidly about her experience made even more poignant by the fact that
she herself is an Oncologist. In her own words, "Of all the patients an
Oncologist could have, the worst possible patient is another
Oncologist. I know this now from both sides of the fence. I have
treated a colleague and I have been a patient". Her recovery is
informative and uplifting.
Brian's Story: Brian's story is similar. He put up a stubborn
resistance to treatment. "I had to do things my way. Dr M_ wanted me to
have surgery followed by Chemo Therapy to make sure that the cancer is
gone completely. I, being the stubborn individual I am, insisted on no
Chemo". In his own words "Cancer is beatable; I am living proof of
that".
Rachel's Story: Next is Rachel, a mother who shared her experience
frankly. "I had never felt so helpless in my life. I was used to
getting what I wanted and what I wanted was not to be sick. No matter
how much I protested or how much I sulked, the fact remained, I still
had colon cancer." She now volunteers at a children's cancer ward
bringing gifts, toys and books for kids that are there. Her cloud had
a silver lining that has brought her much happiness.
Richard's Story: Richard placed his faith in alternative medicine and
had little trust for traditional methods. How he eventually got around
to visiting the doctor makes interesting reading. "I made the
appointment, or should I say the first appointment. And missed it. I
then made another appointment and missed it too. Finally, when I called
to reschedule the second appointment, the kind woman on the phone asked
me if I was really going to be at the appointment I was trying to make.
I was insulted so I hung up the phone." He now does his best to raise
funds for cancer research.
The Pastor's Story: The Pastor's story is truly inspirational. A man
of strong beliefs - questioning why he should get sick. "I felt robbed
of my health for no reason. Like I was punished for someone else's
crime. Now, ten years after the fact though, I see that it was not a
punishment." He now spends quality time with patients in a cancer ward
and offers a valuable support network.
Maxwell's Story: Maxwell was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. In
his own words, "A lot of people I have met through my cancer patient
support group (while I was an active cancer patient) and a lot of
people I have met in my cancer survivors group, did not take the stance
and fight with all their might until they had to. I did not wait until
the cancer got larger or until I got sicker. I stood my ground and
fought from the very start when I first learned of the cancer's
existence." He now enjoys his life with his loving wife and three
beautiful girls.
Kathleen's Story: Kathleen's story is compelling reading. Hers is a
classic tale of keeping all her problems to herself. "Instead of taking
an aggressive stand against cancer, I clammed up and did nothing. In
fact, I waited almost five months before anyone else knew I had cancer.
Actually, I did not even tell anyone once they found out. I had gotten
to the point in my cancer that I was unable to eat anything without
getting sick". Her words offer great courage. "If you have cancer,
fight a good fight and do not forget one of your best defences is a

One of the things that impressed me most about these seven survival
stories was what they all had in common. And it wasn't about the
clinical stuff, the stuff that most of the other websites are about. It
was the emotional stuff, the mental attitude of these survivors. It was
the certainty inside them that said "I'm going to beat this thing. I'm
not going to let it get to me."

To me they showed extraordinary strength of character, and yet here
were these seven "ordinary" people finding this strength inside
themselves. I loved the way they shared in their stories, how they kept
positive even at the lowest moments. It seemed to me reading all the
stories that this was the key to their survival. It wasn't just the
surgery or the chemo or the radiation treatments. It was their
attitudes to their diseases. I read things that I hadn't found anywhere
else.
So now I'd like to share this book with you. It's an e-book, so it's
